Sino nga ba si Grace Poe?

Si Mary Grace Sonora Poe Llamanzares o kilala bilang si Grace Poe-Llamanzares o sa mas simpleng Grace Poe, ay ipinanganak noong Setyembre 3, taong 1968.

Isinilang sa Iloilo subalit inabandona ng kanyang tunay na nanay. Siya ang inangking anak ni Ronald Allan Kelley Poe o mas kilala sa pangalang Fernando Poe Jr. na tinaguriang “Da King” o hari ng pelikulang Pilipino at at ina na si Jesusa Purificación Sonora na mas kilalang Susan Roces.

Si Grace Poe ay aktibong lider at tagapagsalita sa publiko, itinanghal din si Grace bilang kampeon sa debate sa Assumption College kung saan siya nagtapos ng elementarya at sekundarya. Kumuha siya ng Aralin sa Pagpapaunlad sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, Maynila o UPM noong 1986 hanggang 1988. Nag-aral din siya sa Boston College para sa kanyang masteral sa Political Science Government and Political Theory.

Mula Oktubre 10, 2010 hanggang Oktubre 2, 2012 ay pinamahalaan niya ang Movie and Television Review and Classification Board o MTRCB, at sa pagkakatalaga sa kanya ay ipinakilala niya ang bagong sistema ng pag-uuri o klasipikasyon sa sensura ng pelikula at telebisyon, ang pagkakaroon ng karagdagang suporta ng institusyon sa mga tagapagtaguyod ng independent film at ang pakikipagkasundo sa iba pang kawanihan ng gobyerno, samahan sa media at iba pang grupo na may malasakit sa interes sa mga batang manonood.

Nagtrabaho rin si Grace sa FPJ Productions and Film Archives, Inc., negosyo ng kanilang pamilya. Sa Amerika ay nagkaroon din siya ng karanasang mamasukan bilang guro, opisyal ng pakikipag-ugnayan at tagapamahala ng produkto.

Naging Senadora rin siya sa salukuyan.

Nitong Miyerkules ng gabi, Setyembre 16, ina-anunsyo mismo ni Sen. Grace Poe sa isang programa sa Bahay ng Alumni sa University of the Philippines o UP, na tatakbo siya pangulo sa 2016.

Sa kanyang talumpati, ibinida ni Poe ang kanyang mga isusulong na programa para sa masa.

Narito ang mga sumusunod:

- Improvements in the quality of education thru digital technology & removal of classroom backlogs.
- Improving agriculture, including land reform, irrigation and mechanization.
- Inclusive growth, global competitiveness and open government Government-supported industrialization to induce manufacturing and create more jobs.
- Improved transparency with the enactment of the Freedom of Information Law.
- Reduced income taxes.
- Improved wages and benefits.
- Lower power rates while boosting power generation with more attention on renewable energy.
- Increased legal support to distressed overseas Filipino workers and reduced fees and red tape for those applying for work abroad.
- Intensified campaign against crime and drugs.
- Peace talks with various groups fighting the government.
- Respect for human rights and the needs of vulnerable sectors, including persons with disabilities, indigenous people, the urban poor, women, children, foundings, the LGBT sector and senior citizens.
- Health, including adequately staffed and equipped hospitals in every city, and strengthening the Philhealth program.
- End of territorial disputes in the West Philippine Sea thru strengtening the Philippine Coast Guard).
- Finding solutions to the jampacked traffic situation in Metro Manila.
- More roads and trains not only in Metro Manila but in major centers around the country and increasing infrastructure spending to seven percent of GDP.
- Improved the information highway infrastructure, including the Internet.
- More support for arts, culture and sports.
- The establishment of a Department of Emergency Management to address climate change and disaster preparedness.
- Strengthened tourism programs.
- A broadened conditional cash transfer program and the creation of the Standard Lunch Program for the students.

Gaya ng inaasahan, sinabi ng senador na itutuloy niya ang adhikain ng ama na isulong ang tapat na paglilingkod lalo na sa mga mahihirap.
